AMB MEDAN MENGIRIM TARUNAI/i KE JAMBORE ASEAN
Akademi Maritim Belawan (AMB) Medan merupakan Institusi Pendidikan Profesional berbasis Kemaritiman. Dalam rangka peran aktifnya meningkatkan kemampuan Taruna/I, AMB sadar betul tentang perlunya pencapaian dalam pendidikan Kewirausahaan sebagai salah satu yang bisa memberikan aspek kompetensi bagi Taruna/i nya dalam menghadapi dan beradaptasi dengan perubahan yang semakin demikian cepat, linear dengan perubahan teknologi saat ini.
Sejalan dengan tujuan di atas, AMB melalui Prodi KTK, Nautika dan Teknika mengajukan proposal pengiriman 4 Taruna/i nya untuk mengikuti acara Jambore HIPMI Perguruan Tinggi Se-Asean yang dilaksanakan di Bandung tanggal 22 -26 Mei 2016 ke Yayasan. Jambore ini sendiri bertemakan Revolusi Mental, Jalan Tengah Membangun Entrepreneur Muda yang Berdaya Saing di Era Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN (MEA) sangat relevan dengan visi AMB yang mencetak lulusan yang mandiri dan bertaraf Internasional.
Dari hasil seleksi tim seleksi yang diketuai oleh Drs. BM. Hari Surasto, MM dengan merujuk pada ide bisnis, antusiasme, dan penilaian diri saat tatap muka selama tanggal 4 – 9 Mei 2016, diputuskan 4 Taruna/i yang akan mewakili AMB: Ridwan Damanik (Teknika), Loisa Matanari, Muhammad Aprian (KTK) dan Fitri Aprialia Pangaribuan (Nautika).
Dalam arahannya ke Taruna/I Capt. Leo Gurusinga, SE. M.Pd., M. Mar. (14/9) selaku Direktur AMB mengatakan agar Taruna/I menjaga nama baik AMB. Para Taruna/I juga diharapkan untuk berperan aktif dalam segala kegiatan di Jambore.
Keempat Taruna/I AMB tersebut tergabung dalam kontingen Sumatera Utara yang berjumlah 200 orang mahasiswa yang berasal dari berbagai perguruan tinggi. Dalam acara pelepasan kontingen Sumatera Utara, PLT Gubsu, T. Erry Nuradi (15/9) mengatakan bahwa “Pemuda dan ma¬ha¬siswa adalah kader terbaik bangsa ke de¬pan.”
